HORSES TO WATCH
By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB
PIMLICO
BALTIMORE BOB: Got back to winning ways when in from FG for local return in stakes company as a fresh face; proven sort likely to keep rolling around here.
BANDJOLAIS: Showed a bit more early interest than usual when he gave chase from wide spot and ultimately weakened to fourth in his latest; primed for better in next start.
BASEBALL DIAMOND: Put forth a fairly even try when fourth in his latest, and hadn’t raced since last-June; could prove perfect tune-up for home run next time.
HI POPPY: Lagged early and passed tired rivals when able to finish a distant third in his latest; needs pace and race luck to set up late punch, but can factor in gimmicks on lower-end claiming scene.
LADY OUTFLANKER: Chased early and weakened when a fair third in her most recent course return; capable of handling lower-end types on NW2L scene in near future.
LILY QUATORZE: Made her way to the pace and maintained her edge in a professional graduation over four rivals in her first career route attempt; 3YO filly can continue to develop around here.
NEBULA: Caught some trouble in her most recent start and gained to notch a fair third-place finish; often underneath in exotics, but worth including in wagers.
STAR MONEY: Came up empty inside the eighth-pole and finished third in her first try since February most recently; had strong form before break, and can get back to it for trainer Alecci.
WILD REPENT: Stalked, moved up to duel, and weakened in the stretch when third in his latest; respect the early zip with cheapies.
4*SPECIAL: LOST LETTERS: Rallied up the inside from way back to pick up second in her first try with winners, and has now put forth two big and improved tries since on turf; stay with her.
LONGSHOT: CLASS MARK: Raced wide into the lane and failed to pick it up when seventh in his latest return from a November-break, but can prove a useful $20K-claim for trainer McMahon.
KEENELAND
BARYSHNIKOV: Chased throughout and managed third behind 15-length plus winner in his latest; worth another crack at 1X allowance level.
CAUY’S HUMOR: Returned from one year on the bench at odds-on and could only manage fourth after early duel; deserves at least one more shot to atone.
IL GIRASOLE: Chased the pace and gave way to sixth in first career synthetic try most recently; a front-running spot on turf could turn him in the right direction in a hurry.
JOHARMONY: Made it three straight wins when game in most recently allowance score off a brief break; 3YO filly has done little wrong and can keep developing.
LEATHER LACES: Chased and couldn’t keep up with rapid juvenile winner when third in what should prove a useful debut run; her turn for Asmussen barn next time.
MAJOR BRAVO: Made the pace and weakened to third, but in an improved try in his second career start; keeps forward progress for Attfield barn, and son of Shamardal can be considered for turf.
PSYCHIC INCOME: Stalked the pace, battled, and proved best by a nose in game win most recently; can score right back for McPeek barn.
SHORE DO: Now has a pair of races under his saddle since back from two-month respite, and latest placing was done in game fashion; top billing next time.
YOU GO WEST GIRL: Gained a bit to finish third of five when back from winter off in her latest; gets back to her top form in a hurry, but look for her in Kentucky or possibly New York once Belmont opens.
4*SPECIAL: TRACK BULLY: Chased wide and weakened when fourth behind flashy winner in his latest; gelding does seem to be improving with experience and can handle the right crew next time.
LONGSHOT: AUTUMN EYES: Chased and weakened to fifth in turf return off a two-month freshening most recently; note, filly met colts and can move forward from experience.
