Horses To Watch

By: ATC

GULFSTREAM PARK

BATTLE HERO: Well bred colt took a while to get going but is starting to turn things around. His most recent second

place finish from the 12 post says he is ready to score right back, tab.

CATSURE: Was up close early through some quick splits, raced between horses and then tired in the lane. Fits nicely

at the NW2L claiming level.

CLIPPING COINS: Was up close to some solid early fractions and then tired to finish last of six. May need a slight drop to

show his best.

GRAND PIANO: Sat second early, took over the lead and drew out to score an easy victory for solid barn. Can string a few

together against three year olds.

ISLAND SAGA: Showed much improved early foot while dueling for the lead and held well for third, follow for solid barn.

MADISON’S WISH: Dropped back from the start while racing in 11th before finishing up well for an even fifth. Should

improve off that race, tab.

MAY GATOR: Was sent right to the lead and held that advantage until the top of the stretch before fading to finish fourth

at 34-1 in a Grade III stakes race. Needs some class relief to score.

PETESAMASSBRED: Closed from well back to get up and score to break his maiden. Follow with conditioned claimers.

PLAY ALL NIGHT: Was up close early on, made a middle move to the lead before tiring late to finish an even fourth. Will only

get better with each and every start.

ROYAL SENSATION: Chased the pace early, took over the lead and ran on well to the wire to finish a clear second best.

Should

get there next out with $40k claimers.

SHOWMEITALL: Was quickly clear on the lead through some very swift fractions and could not hold off the closers in the

lane

tiring to third. Will be tough at the $14k claiming level.

WATERSHED: Ran an even fifth for the Todd Pletcher barn while going off at 10-1. Should improve with that race under his

belt.

YAKIMA CANUTT: Battled head to head for the lead while racing from an outside post and just missed the place spot. Was

D’Q from

the show spot and placed sixth, follow with $18k claimers.

4STARSPECIAL: PUBLIC OFFICAL: Was an even third as the favorite last out when he probably was in need of the race.

Should

improve for top grass barn and may have a future on the grass.

LONGSHOT: OMINOUS: Was unhurried early on while traveling in sixth and then was blocked slightly on the turn before

finishing up

well for the place spot. Gets there next out with clean trip.

TAMPA BAY

BOX SEAT LOVER: Has been keeping erratic form, below his best stuff, since returning locally following layoff; 10 YO gelding

reserved

right to need a few starts.

CHARISMATIC APPEAL: Lived up to favored billing when bossing NW2L allowance foes in latest; 3YO filly brings plenty of

upside

based upon pedigree, so stay on board.

DABNEY CARR: Should only benefit from solid third-place (chased throughout, boxed in, stayed on) return from break;

back-classy

veteran moves forward.

EMOTIONAL ENDING: Brings the early speed to stay in the mix versus lower-end claimers on sprint scene, so keep him on

your

gimmick tickets.

HAWK’S FEATHER: Fell flat in local return when returned from break following respectable Delaware lines; patience pays

with

veteran when barn finds right spot.

SCOOTER’S SUNMAN: Showed little in tough return spot – as 30-1 tote price will attest – expect more speed early and

often in

next start.

SMART PLAYER: Can surprise NW2L claimers in third start of current form cycle; he has been middle-moving in recent

starts that

were better than form suggests.

TWO CONDOS: Tried route in latest, and did finish up for third in 10-horse group; conditioning gained helps filly who is

likely to find right NW2L

group before long.

ZEALOUS KATE: Veteran mare brings dangerous early speed to lower-end claiming sprints; 15-time winner merits respect –

and inclusion

on your tickets.

4STARSPECIAL: FLIRT WITH FORTUNE: Now has a pair of starts under his belt since break and arriving locally from

California; back-classy colt figures primed now.

LONGSHOT: SUMMING STARS: Once-promising mare has not been able to build upon impressive upset win in return this

fall, but brings late punch when in mood; course

experience helps now.
