Zenyatta and Blame continue to lead NTRA Poll

By: SPORTS NETWORK

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Undefeated mare Zenyatta and four-year-old colt Blame remain one-two in the latest NTRA National Thoroughbred Poll. In fact, the first seven remain unchanged from last week with no new names among the top 10.

Two-time champion older female Zenyatta lost a first-place vote from last week's 14 and now has 170 total points. Owned by Jerry and Ann Moss and trained by John Shirreffs, the champion will start in the Lady's Secret Stakes at Hollywood Park on Saturday, October 2.

Blame, winner of the Stephen Foster and Whitney Handicaps, is second with five first-place votes and 158 points. The four-year-old also will make his next start on October 2 in Belmont Park's Jockey Club Gold Cup.

Woodward Stakes champ Quality Road is third with 139 points followed by Lookin At Lucky (120), Blind Luck (97), Paddy O'Prado (47) and Rachel Alexandra (41).

Moving up from ninth to eighth is five-year-old mare Proviso. The turf runner received 33 points to move ahead of Eclipse Award winner Gio Ponti who posted 24 points.

Pacific Classic winner Richard's Kid remains in 10th with 21 points.
