NTRA Poll shows minor reshuffling

New York, NY (Sports Network) - All but two of the horses in the top 10 retained their positions in week 29 of the NTRA National Thoroughbred Poll. None of the thoroughbreds dropped out, but there was a minor switch near the bottom of the top 10.
Two-time champion older female Zenyatta remains in first-place with 14 top votes and 171 points. The six-year-old mare will start next in the Lady's Secret Stakes during the Oak Tree meeting at Hollywood Park on Saturday, October 2.
Leading older male thoroughbred Blame is second with four first-place votes and 156 points. The four-year-old colt will make his next start on October 2 in Belmont Park's Jockey Club Gold Cup.
Quality Road holds on to the third spot with 136 points followed by Lookin At Lucky (125), Blind Luck (116), Paddy O'Prado (51) and Rachel Alexandra (38).
Despite having just one win this year Eclipse Award winner Gio Ponti edged past Proviso into the eighth position. Gio Ponti, 2009 champion male turf and older male, received 32 points to Proviso's 31.
Pacific Classic winner Richard's Kid remains in 10th with 23 points.
