Zenyatta takes jog at Hollywood Park
By: SPORTS NETWORK
Inglewood, CA (Sports Network) - Undefeated mare Zenyatta took to the track Thursday morning for the first time since her victory last Saturday in the $250,000 Lady's Secret Stakes. The six-year-old champion jogged at Hollywood Park.
Zenyatta, owned by Jerry and Ann Moss, is being prepared by trainer John Shirreffs for her final career start in next month's Breeders' Cup Classic at Churchill Downs. The two-time Eclipse Award winning mare became the first female to win the Classic last year.
Zenyatta became the all-time female earnings leader with the Lady's Secret win. Perfect in 19 career starts, the mare has earned more than $6.4 million surpassing Ouija Board's $6,312,552.
A repeat win in the $5 million Classic on November 6 by Zenyatta would give her more than $8 million in earnings to put her into ninth on the career money list for all North American thoroughbreds.
