HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

(PARX RACING)

BAVARIA: Was claimed out of a $7.5k claiming race, moved up into a starter allowance race and showed good speed to the top of the lane but tired to finish sixth, a clear lead can be the key right back.

COACH SHAW: Is best when he can get a big pace to run at up front, didn’t get that needed pace last out and checked in an even fourth as the final quarter mile was too sharp to close into, should get a better price next out and may fall into the right trip, tab.

HIGHER INCENTIVE: Seven year old mare stalked the early pace in a four horse field in an off the turf race last out, took over into the lane and never looked backed scoring by more than four lengths; that was his first start off the Richard Dutrow Jr. claim and she can only get better, follow.

PROSPECT KNIGHT: Two year old colt broke from a tough outside post last out going a mile, set some solid fractions but tired in the lane to finish fourth, should move forward again off that effort and the price will be right.

STEAL A STAR: Moved up to the NW3L $10k claiming level, showed high early speed and was still there until the top of the lane but tired in the drive to finish a close-up seventh at 11-1; the prie will be right and clear off early and score at a solid price.

BEST BET: VICARIAN: Moved into sharp barn two back, got a brief break and then finished a solid second in his first start for new barn and then followed that up with a solid win, backclassy sort is ready to move back up the claiming ladder.

LONGSHOT: SIR CADIAN: Two year old colt was cold on the board going off at 25-1 in his career debut, broke slowly from the rail and saved ground throughout finishing fourth about 11 lengths behind the winner, should improve off that effort and can offer some value at the windows next out.

TURF PARADISE

AGENT DUDLEY: Ran well in his third start back off a May layoff most recently finishing second at 47-1; is better with more distance and a move back to the turf can also help his chances.

BUDS N ROSES: Was 0 for 11 heading into her first try over the turf and she showed a big turnaround closing well to finish second to the even money favorite, follow this one back over the lawn.

COMIC FOOL: Speedy five year old gelding made a clear early lead last out setting some very fast fractions but couldn’t hold on late tiring to finish third at 6 ½ furlongs, slight turnback gets him home.

MADLY PADDLIN HOME: Tried the turf for the first time in his 44th start and never did any running trailing the field of six throughout, may offer some value back over the turf, tab on turf only at a price.

THE RED ROLLS: Shipped in from Hastings Park for his second career start, a drop into a $5k maiden claimer and he didn’t disappoint, making the lead early and drawing away late, follow this one right back with restricted winners, tab.

BEST BET: MAYA ANGELINA: Four year old filly was three for three heading into her most recent effort, her first try over the turf but should couldn’t get past the two leaders checking in a decent third, is probably better on the dirt but could also improve off that first turf effort, connections have options.

LONGSHOT: LEAVE IT TO CLEVE: Ran an improved race in his second try over the Turf Paradise racetrack closing well to finish third to the favorite at 33-1, must be used in all exotics and can surprise with further improvement.
