HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

TURF PARADISE

BEAUDACIOUS LADY: Broke well from post nine last out, was right up on the lead while in between horses and tired a bit in the lane to finish fifth with basement claimers, can be tough right back at a decent price.

C MY SECRET: Six year old gelding came out of the gate running last out, opened up a clear lead through some very solid fractions in a 1 and ¼ mile race, only tiring to third late, follow this one right back at any distance or surface, tab.

HECTOR: Was a winner in his first try over the turf, sent off as the 5-2 second choice last out in his second turf try he didn’t put in much of an effort tiring to finish fifth; give him another shot right back at a better price.

LEEDSTHEWAY: Set the pace last out stretching out over the turf, held that lead into the lane after setting solid splits but tired some late to finish fourth; stay close.

RAZOR CUT: Hails from sharp barn, was outrun for the better part of the six furlong race behind some very solid fractions, leveled off and finished up well for third, stay close with NW3L $3.5k claimers.

BEST BET: NOBLE LAD: Well bred six year old gelding is in with $12.5k claimers, stalked the leaders from fifth while racing behind solid fractions, made a move to get into third but couldn’t get by tiring to finish fourth, follow at a price.

LONGSHOT: HANAGAN MEADOW: Seven year old mare was never that far off the pace going five furlongs last out, made a move at the top of the lane to take over the lead but couldn’t hold off the favorite late checking in second at 37-1; respect right back with similar at a price.

OAKLAWN

A STUDENT: Four year old colt by Afleet Alex has shown some flashes of brilliance but might have been up against it trying to close into slow splits most recently, stay close.

ARCHARCHARCH: Was sent off at even money last out while making his first start over the Oaklawn course, stalked the leaders in the Smarty Jones stakes and tired in the lane to finish fourth, solid runner must be respected right back despite poor effort, tab.

BANK ACCOUNT: Shipped in from Hawthorne for his last start that came in the fog, broke midpack and then raced inside and checked in an even sixth, fits with $6.25k claimers so you must respect right back with similar.

HABITUAL: Six year old gelding ran his record to 8 wins from 30 starts with more than 50% in the money; solid veteran is one to watch right back even with better, tab.

ROMAN FLAME: Three year old colt was working well at Hawthorne heading into his debut and ran on well for third late at 6-1, should gain plenty from this effort and must be followed right back.

SAFE N RICH: Broke in the first flight last out, was right up with the leaders, took over into the lane and just missed by a neck at 57-1; six year old mare knows how to win and must be respected at a decent price with similar.

BEST BET: HENRY’S POSSE: Had not been seen since October at Mountaineer, battled for the lead early on in the fog but tired to finish last, was claimed by the Jamie Ness barn and should improve immediately.

LONGSHOT: TIME TAMER: Showed some speed two back before tiring to finish last of 12, was sent off at 110-1 last out when coming off that October layoff and finished well for fourth; continues to improve and offers big time value right back.
