Friday marks beginning of Kentucky Derby Future Wager

Louisville, KY (Sports Network) - The first of three Kentucky Derby Future Wagers is slated to get underway Friday with bets to be accepted through Sunday. The opening odds for the 24 betting interests include 23 three-year- olds along with a mutuel field.

The mutuel field, which includes all three-year-olds not listed in the pool, is the 5-2 morning-line favorite. Champion colt Uncle Mo is second at 9-2 and is scheduled to make his 2011 debut in next month's Tampa Bay Derby.

The co-second choices at 10-1 are To Honor and Serve and Dialed In. Recent winner Brethren is 15-1 off his victory in last week's Sam F. Davis Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs.

The 137th Kentucky Derby will be conducted on Saturday, May 7 at Churchill Downs.
