Zenyatta and Bernardini brought together

Versailles, KY (Sports Network) - Former Horse of the Year Zenyatta has been bred to 2006 Eclipse Award winner Bernardini. It is the second celebrity mating of the week in thoroughbred racing.

According to Zenyatta's website, the 2009 Breeders' Cup Classic winner was vanned from her Lane's End Farm home Wednesday morning to meet Bernardini at his nearby Darley residence.

"It was 'textbook,'" according to the posting. "Zenyatta was unbelievably professional -- especially for a maiden mare. It was all nice and easy and went perfectly."

This past Monday morning, 2009 Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra and two- time Horse of the Year Curlin were bred at Lane's End Farm.
