Uncle Mo leads the way in Kentucky Derby Future Wager

Louisville, KY (Sports Network) - Leading three-year-old Uncle Mo has been made the favorite with the close of betting in the second Kentucky Derby Future Wager. The wagering pool began this past Friday at noon (et) and ended Sunday at 6 p.m. (et).

Uncle Mo, 2010 champion two-year-old, ended as the 3-1 favorite among the 24 betting interests. The colt opened at 7-2 in the morning-line. At Gulfstream Park on Saturday he won his first start of the year in the Timely Writer Stakes.

Owned by Mike Repole, Uncle Mo will make his last start before the Kentucky Derby in the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct on April 9.

"He came out of the race yesterday very well," said Uncle Mo's trainer Todd Pletcher. "The plan all along has been to go to the Wood; I don't think anything has changed out of that."

Finishing as the 7-2 second choice was the mutuel field which includes all three-year-olds not listed in the pool, The mutuel field opened as the 3-1 morning-line favorite.

Fountain of Youth Stakes winner Soldat, who opened as the third choice at 8-1, closed at 13-1.

Holy Bull Stakes winner Dialed In finished as the 11-1 third pick. Defeated in a recent allowance race, Dialed In was 10-1 in the morning-line.
