HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

PENN NATIONAL

A KISS IN THE PARK: Shot free on the pace on stretch to one-mile trip for his latest, and stayed on for third of 10; gelding is in sharp form for Kreiser barn right now.

MARSELLA DELIGHT: Made up a lot of ground through slop to finish second behind easy winner in her latest; needs pace/race luck given her style, but figures to stay sharp now.

PEEDOODLE: Showed improved early and overall interest en route to third-place finish on stretch to route in course return most recently; next time for tip billing.

SHESMORETHANATIGER: Made it two straight easy wins since claimed by trainer Rojas most recently, and on stretch to route for her latest; keeps rolling.

SISTER ANNIE: Built upon nice debut to take the measure of four rivals with good maiden score most recently; follow up the class ladder.

4*SPECIAL: HERMAN’S SOLDIER: Gained second in course return most recently, and current form seems headed in the right direction; gets elusive second career score.

LONGSHOT: BILLY BELMONT: Showed some needed and overdue life with good late run for fourth in his latest; offers value in gimmicks.

TAMPA BAY DOWNS

BLAZING PRIZE: May have been used a bit early when asked to stay in range from rail draw in his latest, and faded through the lane as a result; stay with gelding who owns solid overall resume.

CALL ME SIR: Put in a sustained run only to fall a head short when second in his recent return from brief break; score in sight.

DESERT SUNSET: Improved dramatically with addition of Lasix for her second lifetime start, when she drove clear of 11 maidens for sharp score; some upside for Wilkes barn.

LEGACY WILDCAT: Put in a strong run for second when back to dirt for his latest; rarely runs a poor one, so label a must-use.

PISTOL RULES: Chased from a distance and settled for a distant third behind dominant winner when back to turf in his latest; brings back checks and can handle turf or dirt.

PYRITEVILLE: Set a sharp pace and gave out to finish fourth in her latest; veteran mare with solid overall mark must be respected in lower-end claiming dashes.

STEP SISTER: Chased the pace from wide spot and stayed on to finish a fair fifth in her first try off claim by trainer Chapman; note, mare turned back in distance and figures sharper for experience.

4*SPECIAL: LATER GATER: Acquitted himself well with fourth-place effort on move back to turf for starter allowance try most recently; stay on board with Navarro (25% this year) trainee.

LONGSHOT: WICKIE’S FLAME: Overcame awkward break to gain third on move to turf for second lifetime start; diploma awaits with gate kinks worked out for next time.
