HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

MONMOUTH PARK

BLING BLING GIRL: Six year old mare shipped back up from Gulfstream Park coming off a win against $10k claimers, ran well here last year and is in a sharp barn, stay close.

JET SET VINNY: Hard hitting five year old has kept some decent company and scored here last year back on May 23rd, 2010; has not been seen since but does run well off layoffs and the works say ready for sharp barn.

LOCKUP: Eight year old has earned over $200,000 and he always gives an honest effort, has been racing against basement foes at Parx Racing and won a race two back, can get there with basement claimers with the right set-up, don’t dismiss.

MY HONEY B: Hard to endorse a horse that is 1 for 32 and ended her season last year with a couple of bad efforts, fits with lower level restricted claimers or give her a shot over the turf where she has four starts with one second and one third, the price will be right.

PASTA LOVER: New Jersey bred had a solid year last year with two wins, four seconds and a third over this track, was given the winter off and has been working well for a return to the races, follow closely.

BEST BET: LUCKY JAMES: Six year old gelding knows how to win with eight wins from 24 starts, has run well here in the past and fits with mid level claimers for the Broome barn, is ready to get back into the winners circle here at Monmouth.

LONGSHOT: CANDY MINE: Three year old colt is well bred but so far his first three starts have been a disappointment, his most recent effort on the grass at Atlantic City was an improvement and he has been working very well in the a.m.; give him a shot.

PHILADELPHIA (PARX RACING)

ATTACK JACK: Seven year old gelding was returning from a December layoff last out, pressed the pace through a very solid half mile in 44:2 but tired in the lane to finish fourth; is set to go now right back with similar.

BEAUREAL: Broke her maiden back in February going wire to wire against statebred $25k maiden claimers, was claimed out of that race by sharp barn and returned to the races with a decent third to a runaway winner who scored by five lengths in a sharp time, should be all set right back.

PRIVATE WISH: Six year old gelding has been showing speed and fading in his last few starts, turned back to a six furlong distance last out, showed good speed again and then stayed on very well to just miss late at 70-1; ready to score right now.

RED HOT JAZZ: Shipped back up from Gulfstream for her last start and took a drop into $16k claimers, was right up on the lead, took over into the lane and never looked back scoring by an easy 3 ¼ lengths, backclassy runner can string a few together.

SLEW ALL OVER: Five year old mare battled head to head for the lead last out, was still there into the lane but tired in the drive to finish fourth at 43-1; 1 for 42 runner is hard to endorse but has been showing sharp early speed and must be respected right back at long odds.

BEST BET: MS. TIPTAPTOE: Three year old filly was coming an August layoff and moving into a new barn, stalked the leaders from fifth, moved to the leaders at the top of the lane and took over to draw off to an easy score in a very sharp time, can handle turf also, so follow closely versus winners.

LONGSHOT: UNCLE ELI: Has not run a good race in a very long time, turned back in distance last out when breaking from post 11, showed much improved speed while racing three wide, couldn’t stay with the leaders on the turn but stayed on very well to finish fourth at 72-1; must respect this $5k claimer right back at a big mutuel.
