Derby winning trainer to throw out first pitch for Orioles

Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Graham Motion, trainer of Kentucky Derby champ Animal Kingdom, will throw out Thursday night's ceremonial first pitch of the game between the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards.

"It will be kind of cool," Motion said.

A native of Great Britain, Motion is a resident of Maryland where he has his base of operations at Fair Hill Training Center in Elkton.

"Anyone who has an eight-year-old at least has some idea of what they are doing," he said after describing his baseball skills as "minimal."

Animal Kingdom goes after the second jewel in racing's Triple Crown in Saturday's $1 million Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course. The colt is the 2-1 morning-line favorite in the 14 horse field.
