Monmouth Park racing season till November

Oceanport, NJ (Sports Network) - The 2011 thoroughbred racing season at Monmouth Park will run until Sunday, November 6. There will be a total of 71 days of live racing at the Jersey Shore facility.

Monmouth Park, which will be leased to Morris Bailey beginning on June 1, already began its meet last Saturday. The historic track will operate Saturdays and Sundays the remainder of May, including live racing on Memorial Day.

In June, July and August live racing will be offered Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. An additional live card will be held on Monday, July 4.

The $1 million Haskell Invitational will take place on Sunday, July 31.

The four-day Labor Day weekend, Friday through Monday, will have live racing. September and October will feature live race cards on Saturdays and Sundays, plus an added program on Columbus Day, October 10.

The final weekend for live racing at Monmouth Park this year will be November 4 through 6.
