HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

PENN NATIONAL

BLACK CHEVRON: Chased and weakened on move up to restricted stakes company in search of third straight win most recently; gets back on the beam for winning R. Servideo barn.

DOASISAY NOTASISAY: Put in a willing late run for third behind easy winner most recently, and should move up off course return by way of Philly; gets elusive 2L score.

HOLLADAY DIXIE: Chased the pace and faded when it counted en route to fifth-place finish most recently; dead-send to the pace could get job done.

SURE START: Rallied to a clear stretch lead, only to be run down late and settle for second when beaten just a neck in his latest; proven veteran gets top billing next time.

TWO POINT MAKER: Set the pace and weakened in the stretch when sixth in her latest, but perhaps when the effects of prior win off the bench set in; bounces back.

4*SPECIAL: TWO TAVERNS: Found his best stride late and managed third in what should prove useful return from August 2010 layoff; proven sort.

LONGSHOT: SMART SIGHT: Put in a mild run for third behind 16-length winner in her latest, and can clearly build upon her first starts since mid-April; well-bred Augustin/J. Sheppard runner to follow.

WOODBINE

BECKY’S KITTEN: Gained late along the inside, but not enough, and settled for third as the public’s choice in his latest; next time.

CRITICAL THINKING: Stalked, took over, and remained clear to best nine rivals in winning career debut over restricted foes; keeps rolling.

GORDANA: Chased throughout and flattened out in the lane when she had to settle for third in her most recent start; probably didn’t have best set up chasing soft tempo, and can fare better.

I FLY HIGH: Settled for second best behind easy winner on appropriate class drop most recently; capable of putting forth best try yet having now had a couple of races back from break.

KARLIE’S HOLIDAY: Stalked the pace, took over, and held gamely through the lane to post a win in her latest; 3YO filly is lightly raced and can build upon score if able to string races together now.

LADY D’WILDCAT: Stalked the pace after breaking slowly, battled in the lane, and stayed on gamely when ultimately a narrowly beaten fourth in blanket finish most recently; another shot.

4*SPECIAL: WORLD CUP: Chased throughout, briefly led, and faded late to finish fourth in good effort in hot race most recently; moves forward in upcoming third start of current form cycle.

LONGSHOT: NOTACLOUDINTHESKY: Put in a fairly even fourth-place effort when she took some tote play for her debut, and could offer value next time as she did have some trouble; another crack.
