Rival fillies lead NTRA Poll

By: SPORTS NETWORK

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Rival fillies Havre de Grace and Blind Luck remain in first and second, respectively, in the NTRA Thoroughbred Poll. There were only minor changes among the 10 horses from the previous week's voting.

Havre de Grace and Blind Luck, both four-year-olds, are well aware of each other, as they have met five times with each winning twice. In the 2010 Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic, Blind Luck was second and Havre de Grace third behind the now retired Unrivaled Belle.

Both fillies are likely to start in the Delaware Handicap on July 16.

In the latest poll, Havre de Grace pulled in 10 first-place votes and 160 points while Blind Luck received two top votes and 146 points. The leader's advantage dropped from 23 points to 14.

Met Mile winner Tizway holds onto third with a single first-place vote and 95 points. Fourth-place still belongs to Twirling Candy who garnered two first- place votes and 90 points.

Leading three-year-old Animal Kingdom, recuperating from injury, is fifth with 77 points, followed by Goldikova (3, 71), Awesome Maria (70), Game On Dude (39), Get Stormy (27) and First Dude (26).

Goldikova and Game On Dude exchanged positions from last week.
