Cape Blanco enters NTRA Poll with shuffle at the top

By: SPORTS NETWORK

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Arlington Million winner Cape Blanco enters the NTRA National Poll the same week the top two vote getters exchange positions.

Whitney Handicap champ Tizway gains the top spot in the voting, edging previous leader Blind Luck by a point. Tizway received 11 first-place votes and 181 points to advance from the runner-up position.

Blind Luck falls one spot to second with seven top votes and 180 points. The filly had been in first-place since her victory in the Delaware Handicap on July 16.

Havre de Grace remains in third with 147 points. The filly is probable to face Blind Luck again later this summer in the Personal Ensign at Saratoga.

Cape Blanco posted a convincing win in Saturday's Arlington Million to enter the poll in fourth-place. The European colt got one first-place vote and 106 points. The four-year-old has won both U.S. starts this year.

"He's a good tough horse and he's brilliantly trained," said winning jockey Jamie Spencer after the Million. "All I did was do the steering. Aidan (trainer Aidan O'Brien) gave me my instructions and I rode accordingly. I'm very pleased just to be able to ride the horse. There are very few horses that have the will to win like he has. The more you ask from him, the more you get from him. He had loads left in the end."

Goldikova, off a loss in Europe, drops one spot to fifth. The six-year-old picked up 59 points and one top vote.

Game On Dude remains in sixth with 58 points followed by Coil (57), Twirling Candy (34), First Dude (33) and Turbulent Descent (28).
