Plum Pretty heads Cotillion Stakes field

By: SPORTS NETWORK

Bensalem, PA (Sports Network) - Plum Pretty, winner of the Kentucky Oaks, tops a field of six three-year-old fillies for Saturday's $750,000 Cotillion Stakes at Parx Racing in suburban Philadelphia.

Last year's Cotillion was won by Havre de Grace over eventual Eclipse Award winner Blind Luck.

Trained by Bob Baffert, Plum Pretty will be ridden in the 1 1/16-mile stakes by Rafael Bejarano for just the second time. The pair will break from post three.

After winning her only start as a two-year-old Plum Pretty posted a third in both the Santa Ynez and Las Virgenes Stakes at Santa Anita Park early this year. She then won the Sunland Park Oaks as the 1-20 favorite just prior to capturing the Kentucky Oaks in May.

Owned by Peachtree Stable, the filly was second in the Hollywood Oaks and runner-up at Saratoga in the Coaching Club American Oaks. In her last start Plum Pretty was a well beaten fourth to Royal Delta in Saratoga's Alabama Stakes.

In eight career starts Plum Pretty has earned $866,200 with three wins.

Here is the complete field for the Cotillion in post position order: Daring Reality, Oliver Castillo; Halo Dolly, Russell Baze; Plum Pretty, Rafael Bejarano; It's Tricky, Eddie Castro; Love and Pride, Joe Bravo and Buster's Ready, David Cohen.

Love and Pride and Buster's Ready are both trained by Todd Pletcher.
