Blind Luck out of Breeders' Cup

By: SPORTS NETWORK

Arcadia, CA (Sports Network) - Champion filly Blind Luck has been withdrawn from consideration for next month's Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic. The four- year-old finished last in Saturday's Lady's Secret Stakes after being eased in the final furlong at Santa Anita.

"Right now, I would say she definitely will not run in the Breeders' Cup," said trainer/co-owner Jerry Hollendorfer. "But she came back fine. I don't know why she threw in a bad race. She never did that before."

Ridden by Garrett Gomez, Blind Luck was coming off a victory in the Delaware Handicap over Havre de Grace, the current top rated thoroughbred in the nation.

The filly had never before finished worst than third in 21 previous starts. She was beaten 19-lengths in the Lady's Secret as the 13-10 favorite in the seven-horse field.
