Acclamation to comeback in 2012

By: SPORTS NETWORK

Arcadia, CA (Sports Network) - Pacific Classic winner Acclamation is situated nicely at Santa Anita Park while recovering from a leg injury. The five-year- old came up with a problem in his right front leg.

"We're trying to cool it out," trainer Don Warren said about the leg. "It's a little bit better and there's no obvious heat. We could probably get over it soon and run again, but it was time for a rest anyway. This way we can save him for next year."

Owned by Bud Johnston, Acclamation was being considered for this year's Breeders' Cup at Churchill Downs in either the Classic or the Turf. His last start of the year was a victory in the Clement L Hirsch Turf Championship at Santa Anita on October 2.

Johnston indicated that his horse will be turned out at the farm near Fresno, like last year, and get ready for a 2012 campaign leading to the Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita.

Along with the Pacific Classic and Hirsch Turf Championship, the horse won the Jim Murray, Charlie Whittingham and Eddie Read on the turf. The versatile runner has earned better than $1.6 million in 28 career starts with nine victories.
