Keeneland introduces more betting technology

By: SPORTS NETWORK

Lexington, KY (Sports Network) - Historic Keeneland Racetrack is making available more on-track options for wagering. Beginning with Friday's opening program, horseplayers will be able to bet using their SmartPhones or tablets, such as iPads.

The FastBet technology, created by United Tote, can be used anywhere on Keeneland's grounds and is free to the user.

"Keeneland introduced a beta version of FastBet in the spring and it was well received," said Keeneland Vice President and Chief Information Officer Brad Lovell. "Those who tested it gave us great feedback and United Tote did a good job of integrating upgrades into this generation of the technology. Keeneland strives to be an incubator for the industry and we are proud to be the first track in America to offer this service to its fans."

Keeneland's fall race meet, which will celebrate the track's 75th anniversary, will run from October 7 through October 29.
