Pender Harbour versus 12 in Bunty Lawless

By: SPORTS NETWORK

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Prince of Wales Stakes winner Pender Harbour heads a field of 13 Ontario-breds for Saturday's $125,000 Bunty Lawless Stakes at Woodbine Race Course. The three-year-old gelding will start from post 10 with Luis Contreras again riding.

Trained by Michael De Paulo, Pender Harbour had his two-race winning streak snapped when he finished eighth last month in the Pennsylvania Derby. Although he also won the Breeders' Stakes and was third in the Queen's Plate, the gelding was 12-1 in the nine-horse field at Parx Racing.

Owned in part by Bob Giffin, Pender Harbour has career earnings of $842,020 with four wins in nine starts. Contreras not only guided the three-year-old to victories in the Prince of Wales and Breeders' Stakes, the jockey began his sweep of the Canadian Triple Crown by winning the Queen's Plate with Inglorious.
