Jamie Frost elevated at Castleton Lyons

By: SPORTS NETWORK

Lexington, KY (Sports Network) - Longtime horseman Jamie Frost has been appointed as Equine Manager at Castleton Lyons. The farm posted the promotion on its website.

Frost had been serving as the Broodmare Manager at Castleton Lyons for the last three years. He had previous positions at top rated farms Hill 'N' Dale and Ashford Stud.

"We are delighted to promote Jamie to this position as he is an excellent horseman who has an abundance of experience in the horse industry," Shane Ryan, president of Castleton Lyons said. "We look forward to working with Jamie in the future and wish him every success in his new role."

Castleton Lyons is best known as the owner of three-time Eclipse Award winner Gio Ponti. The six-year-old won the Shadwell Mile at Keeneland for the second straight year on October 8.

Trained by Christophe Clement, Gio Ponti is a probable starter in this year's Breeders' Cup Mile at Churchill Downs, a race in which he finished second to Goldikova last year. A winner of more than $6 million, Gio Ponti is the two- time defending champion male turf horse and was voted the 2009 champion older male thoroughbred.
