HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

GULFSTREAM PARK

AWESOME FIRE: Woodbine invader continues to train forwardly for her seasonal debut. Has done very little wrong in five previous starts.

GITCHEE GOOMIE: Classy New York-bred looks to be locked and loaded for her 2012 unveiling. From the always dangerous Rick Violette barn.

IN TE DOMINE: Plenty of rough trips for this daughter of Freud in 2011. Fingers crossed for some better luck this term.

PENN’S GRANT: Lael Stables colorbearer showed late interest after blowing the break in two attempts last term. On the comeback trail.

RUTHLESS EMPIRE: Came from a mile out of it to place third in his unveiling, then endured a troubled trip when fifth. Top barn adds to his appeal.

SATURDAY’S FOR FUN: Any Given Saturday colt out of the lawnmower Changing World continues to knock on the door. Doesn’t have to improve much to graduate; try again.

BEST BET: JUST FOR FRANK: Basement claimer has never been going better than right now. Tactical speed keeps him in it early.

LONGSHOT: DEPUTY DANCE: Tampa invader does boast a win over the track, and ran OK to place fifth at 65-1 after showing early speed in his first start since late January. Not impossible.

GOLDEN GATE

ALIAS MICHAEL: Always right there and keeps getting ignored at the windows. Very capable against starter allowance foes.

ALL THE WAY IN: Has early speed, and is at her best when she’s sent early. The one to catch in a $12.5k maiden claimer.

BONDIS SAVIOUR: Rounding into form nicely, and finally got the respect of the public placing second at 5-1 last time. Overdue to get her picture taken.

DIAMOND TOUCH: Popular claimer continues to fire bullets since changing hands in latest. Ready to roll for Hollendorfer.

EAST FROM WEST: Enjoyed a solid season in 2011--9-3-2-3--and the time off appears to have done him well. Hard knocking gelding.

LOVE YOU SO: Willing to draw a line through her first attempt of the season versus tougher in early March. Previous form was solid, and has proven that she can handle a variety of surfaces. Try again on slight drop.

REIGNING RUBIES: Winless and off the board in eight tries, but seemed to respond to a little down time with a recent fourth. Worth a small play at a big price.

WOODEN HOOQ: Took a big step forward with the drop to $8k to report home second. Goes one better versus a similar bunch.

BEST BET: FLYING GWEN: Posted a very game second while making her first start since October, and has been working like a champ since. Get on board.

LONGSHOT: SHI’AH SAND: Basement claimer has run some sneaky good efforts without hitting the board this term. Sneaks up on the right bunch and lights up the tote board.
