Secret Circle gets checkup in Lexington

By: SPORTS NETWORK

Louisville, KY (Sports Network) - Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert reported that Arkansas Derby runner-up Secret Circle was at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington for a checkup.

"He came out of that race a little crabby," Baffert said at Santa Anita.

Baffert did not specifically indicate that the colt was out of the Kentucky Derby.

Secret Circle finished second to stablemate Bodemeister in the Arkansas Derby on April 14. In March he won the Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park and claimed a division of the Southwest Stakes in February.

Bodemeister, named for Baffert's son Bode, is stabled at Churchill Downs.
