Bensalem, PA (Sports Network) - Kentucky Derby winning jockey Stewart Elliott made his triumphant return to Philadelphia Park on Monday. The 39-year-old rider rode in seven races. Elliott returned to the winner"s circle in the sixth race aboard the favorite Here Comes Jake. That would prove to be his only win on his day back at work after his history making ride. He began the day with a fourth place finish in the first race and then was last in the six horse 3rd race. His mount in the 5th race was third. After his win in the sixth race Elliott was seventh in the eight horse 8th race. Elliott closed the rainy afternoon with a third in the 9th race and he failed to finish in the money in last race. The veteran jockey shot into second place in this year"s national jockey standings. With the Kentucky Derby victory Elliott earned $7.9 million this year with 97 wins in 414 mounts before Monday. The native of Canada is scheduled to ride five mounts on Tuesday at Philadelphia Park. While none of the horses are considered longshots, only one is a morning line favorite.
