HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

MONMOUTH

HONEY DEW LIST: Was sent off at 2-1 for her debut run last out, chased the sharp pace right from the start and was still there at the top of the lane before tiring to finish fourth, improves with that race under her belt and turf may be an option.

BELIEVE IN DANCING: Five year old mare needed her last race against statebred allowance foes last out and checked in fourth late at 35-1, needs a drop in a NW2L claimer to show her best, tab.

GINNY G: Four year old filly chased the wire to wire winner right from the start last out and held on well for second at 21-1; fits nicely at restricted $18k claimer; use right back in all exotics.

EAST BOUND TRAIN: Was back on the turf last out, got away in ninth, was in tight on the final turn but then closed well to finish fourth at 12-1; handles all surfaces and fits with $25k maiden claimers.

HOT LANTA: Was making his first start off the claim last out, got away in fourth behind some very slow fractions, made a good move to take over past the ¾ mark before tiring to finish third, all set now.

BEST BET: TUNE ME IN: Made his first start since December last out which came in a Turf Sprint, finishing up well for third at 9-2; is better at a longer distance and should be all set next out.

LONGSHOT: JET SET CAT: Chased the early pace last out when stretching out to two turns, was still there into the lane and checked in third about five lengths off the winner, is better in sprints and should have the bottom now.

SUFFOLK DOWNS

DISTINCTIVE AVA: Four year old filly was returning from an October layoff last out, got away near the back of the pack but did make up some ground in the lane to finish third, fits with NW2L $5k claimers and should used right back in that spot.

GORDIAN KNOT: Has now run over a wet track three times and still hast now hit the board, made his second start back since October, set the pace but tired in the lane to finish fourth at 23-1; follow back at a price over a fast strip.

HEIR’S THE STORM: Entered her last race off a very poor effort at Delaware Park, chased the favored leader right from the start, was still there into the lane and stayed on well for third at 11-1; likes this track and fits with NW2L $5k claimers.

LUNA DE LOBO: Hadn’t done much running in the last few years, broke well last out and raced much closer to the pace over a sloppy track, moved into second at the top of the lane and held on well for place at 41-1; fits with NW3L $5k claimers.

BEST BET: MEDIEVAL SWORD: Was returning from a November layoff last out, added blinkers and tried a wet track for the first time, chased the pace early on for a half mile but tired to finish a well beaten sixth, needed that race and can offer some value right back off that effort.

LONGSHOT: BELMONT ROAD: Shipped up from Tampa for his last start, took a drop into $12.5k maiden claimers, chased the pace early on but then tired and finished sixth and last, another drop to the basement maiden claimers can key a big price, follow.
