HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

PHILADELPHIA (PARX RACING)

CERTIFIED DIAMOND: Had not run well in two prior starts here, showed much improved speed last out, held that lead into the lane and tired some late to finish third behind the two favorites at 59-1; tab as Likely Longshot.

NICCET: Broke from the rail post last out, was outrun early on behind a decent pace and closed well to finish second to the odds-on favorite, stay close.

AREPEATEE: Broke from the rail post last out, broke slowly from the rail last out, rushed up to set the pace while inside but tired to finish seventh in the drive, respect this runner right back with a better post.

RIVER’S END: Made a solid showing last out in her second start off the claim three back, moved from fourth to get into second at the top of the lane and was well clear of the show horse, fits nicely with NW2L claimers right back.

FULL MOON FROLIC: Showed good early speed last out from the outside post 6, set that sharp pace into the lane but tired late to finish in a dead heat for third at 20-1, can prove tough next out.

BEST BET: BIRD’S I D : Five year old gelding has been in solid form of late with two wins and two seconds from his last five starts, moved from sixth to get into second at the top of the lane but couldn’t finish it off checking in a clear third, sharp runner needs to be followed right back.

LONGSHOT: DEEP WATER: Debuted last out and was sent off at 61-1, raced in sixth early on while in between horses and finished up well through the lane to check in fourth, respect this runner right back at a solid mutuel, tab.

WOODBINE

MEDABUCK: Showed brief speed early on, before taking back down the backside, was asked for urn on the final turn but then was evenly to the wire, stay close with $25k claimers at a better price right back.

SWEEPING FRONT: Three year old filly raced off the sharp early pace last out, started to move on the final turn and closed some ground late to finish third at 26-1, the longest shot in the field, offers value right back with similar, so get on board.

RISE TO GLORY: Was off since October before her last start, her second try over the turf, she chased the pace early on but then tired in the drive to finish sixth, needed that race and handles the synthetics even better, tab.

KIYIPEWIN: Was sent off as the 4-1 3rd choice last out when making her third career start, was bumped at the start and raced in ninth for most of the race before closing well to finish a clear third last out, tab with similar maiden claimers.

CABO QUEEN: Two year old filly was sent off at 38-1 in her debut, chased solid pace from midpack last out and then closed a bit of ground to finish fourth late, should improve off that effort and the value is there.

BEST BET: I’VEATIGERINMYTANK: Showed some promise last year, ran a solid race three back to finish third but was still sent off at 22-1 last out, got away in fourth, moved into second at the top of the lane but checked in third late, follow right back at a good price.

LONGSHOT: JUST B POSITIVE: Five year old mare was making just her second career start, she was sent off at 15-1 last out, pressed a sharp pace right from the start and stayed on well through the lane to finish fourth at 15-1; respect this runner off that effort.
