Pacific Classic win gives Dullahan meet honors

Del Mar, CA (Sports Network) - One race, one victory was sufficient for Dullahan to be named Del Mar's Horse of the Meeting for 2012 by a vote of the media.

The 3-year-old colt, owned by Donegal Racing and trained by Dale Romans, won the $1 million Pacific Classic on July 29 over leading thoroughbred Game On Dude. Dullahan, winner of this year's Blue Grass Stakes, covered the 1 1/4- miles in 1:59.54 over Del Mar's Polytrack main surface.

Ridden by Joel Rosario, the colt was also voted top 3-year-old of the meet. The single win allowed Donegal Racing to lead Del Mar as top money earning owner with $600,000.

Last year's Horse of the Meeting, Acclamation, was named leading older horse and grass horse for his victory in the Eddie Read Stakes.
