Handsome Mike takes Pennsylvania Derby

Bensalem, PA (Sports Network) - Handsome Mike finished ahead of the pack to win the $1 million Pennsylvania Derby on Saturday.

Ridden by Irad Ortiz, Jr., the 3-year-old colt finished the 1 1/8-mile course in 1 minute, 51.63 seconds, taking home $568,000 for owner J. Paul Reddam.

Macho Macho, with Corey Nakatani atop, finished in second place, earning $196,000. Golden Ticket placed third, taking in $112,300.

The fourth spot went to Stephanoatsee, Casual Trick wound up fifth, Alpha completed the run in sixth place and Csaba was seventh.

In the $1 million Cotillion, My Miss Aurelia hit the finish line first, running the 1 1/16-mile track in 1 minute, 44.54 seconds.

That winning run brought in $586,000 for owners George Bolton and Stonestreet Stables.

Questing placed second, Dixie Strike went third and Moment in Dixie came up last.
