Romans' assistant to decide Dullahan's Breeders' Cup race

Arcadia, CA (Sports Network) - The small woman always at trainer Dale Romans' side will have the responsibility of deciding which Breeders' Cup race Dullahan should start.
Tammy Fox, the longtime companion and assistant to Romans, is the one who picks the race the 3-year-old colt will enter for the 29th World Championships at Santa Anita on Nov. 3.
Dullahan will have a workout at Santa Anita this Saturday on the turf course and follow with a work on the main track next week.
"Whichever one I decide that he likes the best, that's the one we're going to go with, so I hope I pick the right one," Fox said.
Fox, a former jockey, will decide between starting the Pacific Classic champ in the $3 million Turf at 1 1/2-miles or the $5 million Classic at 1 1/4- miles on dirt. The colt has never won on either surface, just synthetic.
In his last start, Dullahan was a disappointing fifth in the Jamaica Handicap at Belmont Park on grass. Owned by Donegal Racing, he was the 17-10 favorite in the seven-horse field.
Along with the Pacific Classic, Dullahan captured the Blue Grass Stakes and Breeders Futurity on synthetic surfaces.
In 13 career starts Dullahan has earnings of $1,714,091.
