Wise Dan tops pre-Breeders' Cup poll

New York, NY (Sports Network) - The last NTRA National Thoroughbred Poll prior to the 29th Breeders' Cup shows Wise Dan continuing atop the voting as the best in the world make their way to the World Championships at Santa Anita.
Trained by Charles Lopresti, Wise Dan totaled 341 points, down from 438, along with 16 first-place votes. The 5-year-old gelding will start in Saturday's Breeders' Cup Mile on the grass.
Remaining in second is Game On Dude with 12 top votes and 310 points. The 5- year-old gelding, trained by Bob Baffert, is the probable favorite for the $5 million Classic which will conclude the Breeders' Cup.
Moving up a spot into third is 4-year-old colt Point of Entry. Set for Saturday's Breeders' Cup Turf, Point of Entry picked up two first-place votes and 240 points.
Royal Delta, who will defend her crown in Friday's Ladies' Classic, fell to fourth with 232 points with a single top vote.
Retired 3-year-old I'll Have Another stays in fifth with five first-place votes and 177 points.
Mucho Macho Man (127) and My Miss Aurelia (1, 104) remain in sixth and seventh, respectively. Mucho Macho Man will start in the Breeders' Cup Classic and 2011 Juvenile Fillies winner My Miss Aurelia will go in Friday's Ladies' Classic.
Undefeated Awesome Feather jumps into eighth with 90 points. The 4-year-old filly will start in the Ladies' Classic two years after claiming the Juvenile Fillies.
Groupie Doll is up a spot to ninth with 70 points as she prepares for Saturday's Filly & Mare Sprint.
Flat Out, eighth last week, completes the top 10 with 68 points. The 6-year- old returns for a another shot at the Breeders' Cup Classic.
