Parade of champions at Churchill Downs

Louisville, KY (Sports Network) - A parade of Breeders' Cup winners based at Churchill Downs will be held on Sunday at the track. Five of the seven Breeders' Cup champions with Churchill Downs connections will be paraded between races Sunday.

"Sunday will be a unique opportunity for our loyal fans to salute their hometown heroes," said Kevin Flanery, president of Churchill Downs. "We couldn't be more proud of our Kentucky champions, and their achievements authenticate the quality of racing at Churchill Downs and the Commonwealth's signature horse racing and breeding industry. We owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to their owners and trainers for their cooperation in making this one-of-a-kind event come together. Our 'Parade of Breeders' Cup Champions' is sure to be a marvelous event and will make lasting memories for their legion of fans."

Champions taking part in the ceremony are Mile winner Wise Dan, Classic champ Fort Larned, Filly & Mare Sprint winner Groupie Doll, Turf champ Little Mike and Dirt Mile winner Tapizar. The group will be paraded at Churchill Downs with horses running in Sunday's eighth race which has a scheduled post-time of 4:06 p.m. (ET).

The two champions unable to participate are Ladies' Classic winner Royal Delta who is stabled with Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott in New York and Juvenile Sprint winner Hightail, who is being prepared for the $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot on Nov. 17.
