HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

MONMOUTH PARK

A TOAST TO LIFE: Closed well to finish second behind the 1-2 favorite last out and should be right

there with maidens next out.

DOUBLE COLA: Ran well to finish third last out after chasing the early pace throughout. A stretchout in distance

does the trick.

JOHN’S INTERVIEW: Took a while to run down the leaders last out when tried against New Jersey breds after

facing better in New York prior. Should move through state bred conditions.

KING ROYALE: Has high early speed and was leading the way into the turn before taking some bad steps and dropping

back in the lane. If he recovers give him another shot with similar.

LIVERPOOL LAD: Stretched out in distance last out and finished a solid third after being rank on the clubhouse turn

before turning it around.

MARSH: May have gone to fast early and was still there at the top of the stretch before fading in the drive. Vazquez

barn having a good meet and this one should take a field wire to wire before long.

ROAD BUILDER: Jersey bred impressed scoring wire to wire in a solid time and should be followed with winners next out.

THEARTFULDUTCHMAN: Jersey bred finished an even fifth at 20-1 last out and this statebred should be used in

all exotics.

WINNER TAKES ALL: Has some tactical speed, but was outrun badly early on before closing very well to finish a

fast closing third.

4STARSPECIAL: REMARQABLE TALE: Well bred filly ran very well off the layoff just missing by less than a length

at 34-1. Should be even tighter next out and is taken to graduate.

LONGSHOT: NETCONG: Never ran a step last out over a muddy track and finished a disappointing ninth. Try on a

dry surface in a race with some early pace.

LONE STAR

AIR HADIF: Battled on pace and came on again when collared for win in latest; tab consistent check-getter right back.

ALLREADY: Has been popular at the claim box of late while being bounced up and down in class; game on pace

for place after stumbling in latest, he’s well worth $4K ticket for trainer Palmer.

CLUB FORTY ONE: Moved to lead in latest, but settled for third in blanket finish; from top Norman barn, this gelding

is always in the mix on turf.

FUSE IT: Fell flat in local return, but don’t expect that to last with mare who has a record of 10-10-7 and earnings more

than $465K from 40 career starts.

HONCHO PONCHO: Got going too late when outquicked early behind wicked pace in latest; packs punch when in

mood, and worthwhile $7,5K-claim for trainer Calhoun.

LABORCITA: Has not had much left for the stretch run in each of her two starts since return from brief break; only moves

forward under care of top trainer Asmussen.

SMOOTHMOVINANGEL: Battled back once passed in stretch to post nose win in latest; 3YO statebred filly an

intriguing prospect.

SUAVE LAD: Chased and faded to third in crowded group when giving an acceptable effort in turf return; gives barn turf

and dirt options going forward.

SUPER JAZZ: Has finished fourth in both of her career starts to date, and should only benefit from racing experience; daughter

of Kentucky Jazz has pedigree to show more zip.

THE NINER ACCOUNT: Simply a win machine, he made it 11 for 17 lifetime with dominant score on the front end in his

latest; ready for tougher.

4STARSPECIAL: GUARANTEED SWEEP: Has managed to rally mildly for third in each of his two starts since return

from August-layoff; had trained well for Asmussen barn that now has him set.

LONGSHOT: EAST MEMORY: Battled on pace and held well until late when fourth in first attempt versus winners; continues

to improve rapidly this spring/summer.
