Oaklawn gears up for opening with job fairs

Hot Springs, AR (Sports Network) - In advance of opening day on Friday, Jan. 11, Oaklawn Park has scheduled three job fairs. Oaklawn Park is the home of the $1 million Arkansas Derby for 3-year-olds.

"These job fairs have been very successful ways of filling our employment needs with many people returning year after year and even moving into full- time positions," said Director of Human Resources Angela Boring. "We expect to hire around 400 people from the more than 600 people that will apply."

Each of the three job fairs will target specific work areas. The first, conducted this Saturday, will be restricted to people looking to work in the Mutuel Department. The second on Friday, Dec. 14 will be for the Housekeeping and Maintenance Departments and the final fair on Saturday, Dec. 15 is to fill jobs in the Food and Beverage department.

All three will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (CT) or until all jobs are filled.
