Stevens looking to ride at Keeneland

By: SPORTS NETWORK

Arcadia, CA (Sports Network) - Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens, in the midst of a comeback, intends to ride at Keeneland this spring. The 49-year-old Stevens was speaking to turf writer Jennie Rees of the Louisville Courier- Journal.

"I always go back to Kentucky right after the Santa Anita Derby and I plan to do the same thing this year," Stevens told Rees. Keeneland opens on Friday, April 5 with the Santa Anita Derby the next day.

Stevens owns a home in Louisville and expects to ride at Churchill Downs once the Keeneland meeting concludes.

Meanwhile at Santa Anita, the Hall of Fame rider has one win in eight mounts since restarting his career on Jan. 6 after a seven year absence.

"I feel good and we're just getting our feet wet. It's all good," noted Stevens.
