HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

DELAWARE PARK

DANCER’S WISH: Have always liked this hard-hitting veteran with speed to stay involved in sprints; chased hot pace and

settled for third in latest.

MR. AMANO: Raced on the pace throughout and remained clear in stretch for popular score at odds-on in latest; solid overall, so

tab right back.

QUICK TALKER: Loomed large but flattened and settled for third when it counted most in latest; overdue for top prize, but a

logical runner to use in gimmicks nonetheless.

RAISE HER FLAG: Didn’t have the smoothest of journeys when sixth in latest turf try, and Florida form suggests she can do

better; adjusts locally and improves.

TEN TIMES BETTER: Fell flat in latest, perhaps feeling effects of big effort in prior win; consistent check-getter plenty capable of

bounce back.

TOP PUNCH: Love his early zip, as he brings plenty, and the fact he’s now had two return races since back from October ’03

break only strengthens his cause going forward.

TORRE AND ZIM: Has certainly had his share of problems as a back-classy 4YO with only 10 starts in the bank; chased in hot

race as beaten choice in latest and can atone.

VEREDUS: Stretched out in distance effectively to mount late rally for going-away score in latest; colt in good hands and

likely to stay sharp.

4STARSPECIAL: TRANSGRESS: Has shown speed and finished in top three in each of his five starts to date; useful sort

gave best try yet when second in latest and is even a candidate for distance/turf.

LONGSHOT: DANCE FEE: Tried turf for the first time in latest, and managed fourth without really mounting a threat; conditioning

gained helps, and gives barn options with filly eligible for NW2L spots.

COLONIAL DOWNS

ADO: Rallied from outside spot – as has been the case in most of his starts – to pick up third in latest; lightly

raced 4YO headed in the right direction now.

AGAME: Chased throughout and continued well in stretch to finish second to clear winner in latest; his turn

next time.

CONNOR’S CLAY: Tried turf for the first time in latest, and showed some improvement when chasing and staying

on for fifth with Lasix added; improving sort.

GLEE: Can burn early, and can put that early foot to good use on turf around here; Eppler barn has this 4YO filly

set for improvement.

KASZTANKA: Showed improvement with switch to turf in latest, setting a clear pace and staying on for

second; 3YO filly should only improve going forward.

KEEP IT HOLY: Once showed plenty of promise, and although hurt by time away from races, he now appears

primed to make an impact around here; fourth in productive return.

OVERDUE NUMBER: Went favored for career debut, and juvenile may have needed a race as she ran fourth

racing a bit erratic in crowded field; next time.

RIVER WALKER: Brings plenty of early speed, but faded in local debut; appears prime candidate to get back

on track on the turf scene here in near future.

ROBIN ROCKS: Put in strong late rally to be along in time for upset score over 12 opponents when switched to

turf route off just a debut sprint; no fluke, talent here.

SHAKE SALT: Always liked this lightly raced veteran, and he can certainly improve upon his sixth-place finish

in latest return from lengthy break.

4STARSPECIAL: KEATS AND YEATS: Got back on track with third-place finish when returned to turf in

latest; back-classy sort is freshand fit for summer.

LONGSHOT: MIDWATCH: Now has two races into him since return from layoff, and showed encouraging early

foot before tiring in latest; primed for surprise.
