HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

GULFSTREAM PARK

GRAYBIGNBADLIKEDAD: Took a nice step forward with a switch to grass, showing late interest at 17-1 to finish fourth. Well-spotted at $35k maiden claiming.

INTOXICATING MOVE: Rallied from a mile out of it to finish second at Tampa, then overcame a wide journey to round out the super at Gulfstream at 16-1. Keep an eye on this filly.

JOHARMONY: Lightly raced Canadian invader turned in a solid third-place finish while making her first start of the season. Good fit at the current offering.

NOTIMETOKILL: Very nice claim for $10k and has stepped up versus tougher in two subsequent attempts. Can handle both surfaces, too.

STARSHIP UNIVERSE: Like her last two attempts, rallying for third at 27-1 and 7-1, respectively. Hard to ignore at $30k.

THE CANDIDATE: Expensive son of Bernardini keeps moving forward with distance and racing experience. Up-and-comer for the Zito barn.

BEST BET: BIG SCREEN: Ran a hole in the wind while making his first start off a lengthy layoff in late January, then hooked a very nice one in Cigar Street when second around the racetrack last time. Like how this 4-year-old is progressing.

LONGSHOT: TRITONK: Last two tries at 21-1 and 34-1 are worth a closer look. Yonaguska gelding is sitting on a big one; be there.

GOLDEN GATE

CLASSICAL BARTOK: Has responded nicely with a return to synthetics with a pair of in-the-money finishes at 5-1 and 10-1. Nice fit at $4k.

COME ON DEPUTY: Maiden of 11 tries has shown some late interest at big prices in two out of his last three attempts. Bombs away.

DARNCAT: Have been following this 7-year-old closely, and she nearly delivered at 12-1 for us last time. Don’t give up on her now!

LADY’S PLAN: Has faced off versus tougher in SoCal in recent months, and has always held her own over both surfaces here. Ignore at your own risk.

LOVEINTHESHADOWS: Reported home fourth when stepped up in class following the claim. Stops, drops and pops for the Morey barn.

MOONRAY: Hard to knock her form since dropping to $12.5k maiden claiming. Earns her diploma shortly.

PROMETHEUS BULL: Always seems to show up ready to run, and handles both surfaces here. Gets the money.

TRIBAL SKY: Overdue for a victory, and has stayed in solid form despite not having a break in quite some time. Hard-knocking basement claimer; respect.

BEST BET: ANCIENT ARTIFACT: First or second at a very high clip, and continues to get overlooked by the Golden Gate faithful. Good attempt in first try off the claim by low-profile barn.

LONGSHOT: OLD MEMORIES: Plenty of chances, but is more than capable of sneaking in the mix at a big price at the $8k maiden claiming level. Give him a shot.
