HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

GULFSTREAM PARK

BAHIA DE ORO: Knocking on the door since dropping to $35k. Worth another try if the price is right.

CAPPACHINO GAL: Has flashed some early interest in both of her career starts, and stayed on much better when tried on grass. Heading the right way for David Fawkes barn.

CROWN’S PATH: Followed his second-place finish at 51-1 with a solid fourth at 8-1. Back classy runner is well-spotted at $25k.

E SVEIKATA: Woke up at 22-1 with return to grass despite ducking out at the start. Let’s see if she can put them back-to-back.

PRUDENT INVESTOR: Took money at 3-1 in his unveiling from the rail, but never got involved, reporting home a disappointing eighth. Gets another chance for dangerous barn.

SIR LESLIE: New York-bred showed some improvement when fourth in his juvenile finale at Belmont in October, and finally returned to action with a respectable fourth at 22-1 after a tardy beginning. Don’t sleep on this Serpe trainee.

BEST BET: CROP REPORT: Finally back on the worktab after impressive U.S. debut Feb. 23.

European invader has stakes quality.

LONGSHOT: LOS ROMOS LOCOS: Winless in 14 tries, but starting to come alive in last two, finishing third at 79-1 and fourth at 58-1. Use underneath in the gimmicks.

GOLDEN GATE

ACTORS INC: Freshening and drop to $8k seemed to do the trick for this guy. Ready to put on a show following runner-up effort at 11-1.

BOMB SITE: Smart rally in his unveiling to report home fourth. Four-year-old should be ready to roll next time.

DUKE OF DOOM: Veteran gelding hasn’t missed many dances in 22 career starts. Hoping for some value following rare off-the-board finish.

FLIGHT OF A DREAM: Strong fourth at 17-1 while making her first start since last August. Should be very tough versus similar next time.

HE’S A SURE CALL: Took forever to graduate, 14 tries if you’re scoring at home, but held his own quite nicely in first attempt at the next level, dueling and finishing fourth. Better than rated.

MARYNETTA: Hard-knocking mare is capable of better than she’s been showing in her recent form. Hoping to get some value on her.

REMIND MEE: SoCal reject should appreciate the lesser competition in these parts. Training well for local debut.

SARATOGAATSEVENTY: Made some noise at 18-1 in late February, then failed to land a blow when seventh. Capable on her best day.

BEST BET: BROKEN SWORD: Runaway debut winner versus stakes company last summer finally returned to the worktab at Golden Gate. Will prove worth the wait.

LONGSHOT: PELITO: Last couple of tries in December were rough, but he does have some hidden form. The time off should serve him well.
