By: SPORTS NETWORK

Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Gabby Gaudet, daughter of longtime trainers Eddie and Linda Gaudet, has been chosen by the Maryland Jockey Club as the new racing analyst for Pimlico Race Course and Laurel Park.

Gaudet was selected over three others following an on-air audition at Laurel Park on March 23. The 22-year-old begins her new job Thursday with the start of Pimlico's spring meeting.

"I was very happy the contest was the week it was because I was on spring break and I had time to prepare," said the Towson University senior. "Talking to people my age in the industry, I feel like it is pulling to the younger demographic. A couple of my high school and college friends are starting to follow racing on Twitter and are planning on coming to the Preakness and not just for the concerts in the Infield."

Gaudet will be co-hosting with Frank Carulli on Saturday and Sunday afternoon's and go full-time after Labor Day when Carulli leaves Maryland for Las Vegas.

The Pimlico spring meet concludes Saturday, June 8 to coincide with the Belmont Stakes.
