Game On Dude tops Charles Town Classic nominations

Charles Town, WV (Sports Network) - Leading thoroughbred Game On Dude heads a list of 52 nominees for this month's $1.5 million Charles Town Classic. The 1 1/8-mile stakes will be conducted on Saturday, April 20.

Trained by Bob Baffert, Game On Dude won this year's Santa Anita Handicap and is first in the NTRA National Poll. Also nominated from Baffert's barn are Guilt Trip and Liaison.

Trainer Todd Pletcher has six nominated including last year's Classic winner Caixa Eletronica who recently won a minor stakes at Aqueduct.

Others nominated to the Charles Town Classic include two-time Jockey Club Gold Cup winner Flat Out, 2012 Santa Anita Handicap champ Ron the Greek, 2012 Hawthorne Gold Cup winner Pool Play, 2011 Belmont Stakes champ Ruler On Ice, 2011 Louisiana Derby champ Pants On Fire, 2012 Florida Derby winner Take Charge Indy, 2012 Pennsylvania Derby winner Handsome Mike and former West Virginia Derby champs Macho Macho (2012) and Prayer for Relief (2011).
