HORSES TO WATCH

By: AMERICAN TURF CLUB

SUFFOLK DOWNS

CINNAMON SECRET: Now has a pair of starts under her saddle since return from break and can give her best late punch

going forward; using underneath in exotics at a price.

CODYS MY BOY: Led early and stayed on to finish a useful third when meeting winners for the first time most recently; all set

from conditioning standpoint for upcoming third start back.

GUESTBOOK: Flashed speed from wide spot and stayed on for third in latest, and appears to be back in better form following

some poor efforts; next time.

IMARIA’S MAGIC: Has flashed strong early speed in both tries – a win and a second – since return to local scene; stays sharp

in lower-end claiming sprints.

PRINCESS ACCOUNT: Chased and weakened in first attempt versus winners most recently and should improve; graduation run

in prior start suggests there’s something to work with here.

REGAL DINNER: Has flashed good early lick only to fade in each of his two starts since return from October 2003 layoff; winning

Dandy barn has colt set for best now.

RUBINO: Chased and weakened as failed favorite in latest, but figures to get back to winning ways versus claiming stock in the

near future.

STARS ROYAL: Did not offer much in the lane of latest, but prior fourth-place finish had us paying attention; can be erratic, so

give another chance at square ticket.

SUNLIT RIDGE: Rated just off the early pace and took over in the stretch to drive clear for impressive score in latest; stays sharp

on local sod.

4STARSPECIAL: GREENLAND: Showed some needed life when switched back to turf for latest, and can now continue

forward progress in similar spots; plenty of back class to work with.

LONGSHOT: GOLDEN SHERIFF: Raced wide and never got to the early pace before fading in latest – forgive effort from typically

front-running filly; bounces back.

LOUISIANA DOWNS

ARE YOU HOME: Went in lackluster fashion when sixth in latest, but was still beaten less than two lengths; can do better for

winning Asmussen barn.

BLOWN AWAY: Lived up to favored billing when a rallying winner in latest; now 3-for-10 lifetime, she’s a lightly raced 4YO in good

hands with some upside.

BRUSH’S BRANCH: Battled on pace and settled for tough-beat second for the second consecutive start most recently; diploma

run past due at this point.

PARTERRE: Went evenly for fourth in latest, but previously showed very sharp form; veteran with 11 lifetime wins is a must on

turf tickets.

SAMLOT: Led on soft pace only to fade in latest, but can do better when allowed to hear his hooves rattle early; 12-time winner

always has a spot on our tickets.

SAVORY: Lags early but packs big late punch when in the mood – as shown by going-away victory two starts back; initial

experience versus winners helps filly.

SHAGGING: Figures best used underneath in gimmicks given overall profile, but must be considered for top prize at current

reduced class level; can atone for latest loss as favorite.

TEXARKANA: Raced with the pace early, shook free, and held for game win over nine opponents; underachiever thus far, he

seems headed in right direction now.

WHITE SECRET: Showed the way early and stayed on well through the stretch when third in latest; can turf or dirt

versus similar.

WINDSOR LODGE: Seems to be improving of late, and is a fresh face that bears watching for strong connections; battled on

hot pace before fading July 11.

4STARSPECIAL: LEGS O’NEAL: Battled on pace and weakened to fifth in the stretch run of her latest, but is capable

of better; fresh for summer, she brings winning profile, and has gone well over course.

LONGSHOT: COLORFUL ONE: Had two-race win streak snapped when attempting class jump off Davidson claim in latest, but

figures to bounce back quickly; barn has options.
