By: SPORTS NETWORK

Saratoga Springs. NY (Sports Network) - Princess of Sylmar, the 2-1 second choice, ran past four other 3-year-old fillies to capture Saturday's $300,000 Coaching Club American Oaks at Saratoga Race Course.

Trained by Todd Pletcher for King of Prussia Stable, Princess of Sylmar trailed through the early going in the 1 1/8-mile stakes. Ridden by Javier Castellano, the filly made a four-wide move around the final turn to take the lead and went on to register a six-length victory.

Finishing second was 5-2 third pick My Happy Face followed by 13-1 longshot Marathon Lady, Cue the Moon at 10-1 and 6-5 favorite Unlimited Budget, also trained by Pletcher.

Princess of Sylmar stopped the timer in 1:51.07 over a 'good' track.

Princess of Sylmar picked up $180,000 with the win and recorded her sixth career victory. The 3-year-old, bred in Pennsylvania, has earned $1,007,220 in eight lifetime starts.

The filly has won four of five starts this year, including a half-length victory over Beholder in the Kentucky Oaks on May 3. She also registered wins in the Busanda and Busher Stakes at Aqueduct with a second in the Gazelle at the New York track.

Princess of Sylmar paid $6.30, $3.50 and $2.60. My Happy Face returned $3.80 and $3.50, and Marathon Lady paid $3.30 to show.
