Normandy Invasion back in training at Saratoga

By: SPORTS NETWORK

Saratoga Springs NY (Sports Network) - Normandy Invasion, fourth in the Kentucky Derby, is back in training after missing time due to a foot problem.

The 3-year-old colt was being prepped for the Jim Dandy Stakes when he was sidelined with a foot abscess.

"He's been galloping for over a week, but I am not sure of the timetable," said trainer Chad Brown. "After another week of galloping, I might let him breeze. Right now, I just want to get him to his first breeze and then go from there."

Owned by Fox Hill Farms, Normandy Invasion was fourth in the Run for the Roses after leading the field at the top of the stretch. Earlier this year, he was second to Verrazano in the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct after a fifth in the Risen Star Stakes at Fair Grounds.

With just one win in six career starts, Normandy Invasion has earned $400,240.
