Final workout for Game On Dude before Pacific Classic

By: SPORTS NETWORK

Del Mar, CA (Sports Network) - Probable Pacific Classic favorite Game On Dude had his last workout prior to Sunday's 1 1/4-mile race on Monday morning at Del Mar.

Trained by Bob Baffert and partly owned by Joe Torre, the 6-year-old gelding worked five furlongs on Del Mar's synthetic main track in 59.60 seconds with jockey Martin Garcia aboard. Game On Dude galloped out in 1:11.60 for six furlongs and 1:24.20 for seven furlongs.

"Good work and he needed it," said Baffert. "He's been getting a little fresh on me lately and he needed this."

Game On Dude will be ridden by Joel Rosario on Sunday replacing regular jockey Mike Smith who will be in Saratoga to ride Royal Delta in the Personal Ensign. Baffert will also saddle Liaison in the race with Martin Garcia riding.

Game On Dude is perfect in four starts this year posting wins in the San Antonio Stakes, Santa Anita Handicap, Charles Town Classic and Hollywood Gold Cup. Last year, the gelding was caught at the wire by Dullahan in the Classic.

The Pacific Classic will go off Sunday at approximately 8:45 p.m. (ET).
