Dank deserving of Breeders' Cup dance

By: SPORTS NETWORK

Arlington Heights, IL (Sports Network) - Beverly D Stakes winner Dank has a place reserved for her in this November's $2 million Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf at Santa Anita.

Current indications are that the 4-year-old filly from Europe will make the trip back to the United States for the 1 1/4-mile event.

"She has put on nine pounds since the race. She thrives on her racing and aims to please," said Elaine Westgate, assistant to trainer Sir Michael Stoute.

Ridden by Ryan Moore, Dank drove through the stretch to register a 4 1/4- length victory over Gifted Girl in the 1 3/16-mile Beverly D at Arlington Park on Aug. 17.

"She was in excellent condition coming into this and when she kicked it was all over," Moore said after the race.

Owned by James Wigan, Dank has won six of her 11 career starts for $685,021.
