Mutuel field and Honor Code close as Derby Future Wager favorites

Louisville, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - The mutuel field and Remsen Stakes winner Honor Code closed as the favorites in the first Kentucky Derby Future Wager for the 140th Run for the Roses on May 3.

The first of four Future Wagers opened Wednesday, Nov. 27 and closed after the Remsen on Saturday, Nov. 30. As in previous pools, there were 24 betting interests, 23 individual horses and the mutuel field of "All Others."

"All Others" opened as the 2-5 morning-line favorite and closed at 4-5.

Honor Code was bet down from 15-1 to 10-1 after his nose win over Cairo Prince in the Remsen at Aqueduct.

Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner New Year's Day closed at 15-1 after opening at 20-1.

The remaining pools will be held Thursday, Feb. 6-Saturday, Feb. 8, Thursday, Feb. 27-Saturday, March 1 and Thursday, March 27-Saturday, March 29.
