Shared Belief recovering from injury

Arcadia, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Early Kentucky Derby favorite Shared Belief is recovering from a foot injury that caused the 3-year-old gelding to miss a scheduled workout last Sunday at Santa Anita.

Dan Ward, assistant to Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, told Santa Anita's Ed Golden that Shared Belief is on target to make his 2014 debut in the Robert B. Lewis Stakes at Santa Anita on Feb. 8.

The gelding, co-owned by Hollendorfer, had an abscess on his right front foot.

Shared Belief won the CashCall Futurity on Dec. 14 at Hollywood Park by 5 3/4 lengths and is perfect in his first three career starts for $451,200.
