By: SPORTS NETWORK

Hallandale Beach, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Newly turned 4-year-old filly Princess of Sylmar is in Florida awaiting the start of her 2014 racing season. Owner Edward Stanco is about to put together an itinerary for the filly this year.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, Princess of Sylmar finished second to Beholder in the 2013 Eclipse Award voting for champion 3-year-old filly. Beholder, winner of the Breeders' Cup Distaff, received 207 first-place votes to Princess of Sylmar's 42.

Princess of Sylmar is coming off an outstanding 3-year-old season in which she won the Kentucky Oaks, Coaching Club American Oaks, Alabama and Beldame Stakes, the last versus two-time older female champion Royal Delta.

The 4-year-old filly, bred in Pennsylvania by her owner, has won eight of 11 career starts and banked $1,607,220.
