HORSES TO WATCH

LAUREL PARK
SMOOTH APPROACH: Tried to make up ground behind a soft early
pace and managed to gain third behind blowout winner in her latest; worth
another tumble with similar group.
PRINCESS PERFECT: Angled wide and finished up willingly for
third when stretched to one mile and up to starter allowance level for her
latest; had won two prior starts and stays sharp.
DIXIE TRAVELER: Broke a beat slow, raced in range, lost
ground in traffic, and put in another run for fourth in debut run; 4YO daughter
of Mr. Greeley with some upside.
GOOD TIME HENNY: Lived up to favored billing with
three-length score when meeting winners in his first start since claimed from
winning debut; keeps rolling for trainer T. Keefe.
AUGUST OSAGE: Angled wide and came up empty when it counted
in third-place finish as the public’s choice in his first start since claimed
by trainer C. Gonzalez (20% wins last year); next time.
I’M SMOKIN HOT: Chased throughout and came up second best
when meeting winners for the first time following MCL win at AQU; another
chance.
4*SPECIAL: CHIEF THUNDERCLOUD: Put in a fair effort for
fifth in his first attempt since July by way of WO; proven son of Indian
Charlie has his legs under him now.
LONGSHOT: SWISS ARMY WIFE: Chased the pace from wide spot
and managed fourth of 11 behind an easy winner in what should prove a useful
debut; daughter of Colonel John worth following.
TURFWAY PARK
BLUE CHERRIES SPIN: Shook off pace pressure and drove clear
to 3 ¾-length victory when favored on class drop most recently; 9YO gelding
owns 12 career wins and can stay sharp.
GETTA RHYTHM: Showed some needed and overdue life when
fourth on move to synthetic ground by way of MNR for his latest; overdue, but
worth another shot.
COURTLY FLYER: Might have been in a touch tough most
recently, and managed third from wide spot between foes; use in exotics.
EXULTANT: Blasted free on the pace and came up second best
to easy winner when trying to stretch his speed one mile most recently; stay on
board with gelding in the exacta in 10 of 19 lifetime tries.
NASTROVYA: Rallied up the inside from well back and gave a
fair overall try for fourth of 10 in his latest; figures competitive at current
bottom claiming level.
CROSSED HEARTS: Stalked the pace wide, took over, and
weakened when it counted to finish fourth of 10 in her latest; proves useful
first attempt against winners.
JIMMY THE WHIP: Needed 10 tries to leave the maiden world,
but did so nicely in his latest when he overcame a bobbling start to lead
throughout; try again with winners in reasonable spot.
THE DUCK OF REED: Had little chance giving chase in his
latest behind 8 ½-length winner, but fared well for third; maintains currently
good form.
NIGHT WARDEN: Took the first turn wide, chased the pace, and
stayed on for third when outside draw didn’t help his cause in latest; solid
sort.
4*SPECIAL: RIDGE DANCE (GB): Rallied from way back to pick
up third (second via DQ) when in search of repeat score following win that came
off layoff; 9YO had right to bounce, so form is encouraging.
LONGSHOT: BOLD SEEKER: Finished third of 11 when in from MNR
for his first synthetic racing experience most recently; can move up off his
first start since mid-December.
